After clearing up lunch, set about preparing prasadam for the evening puja.
Simple, onion, garlic free fare.
- Sevai – rice vermicelli tempered with mustard seeds, cummin, curry leaves, dried red chillies, green chillies, urad and channa dhalls, ginger, peanuts, hing, and a splash of lemon juice.
- Venn ponggal – rice, mung beans, with ghee/clarified butter, coarsely ground black pepper, ginger, black pepper corns, cummin, cashews, hing.
Served with - kathrikai/brinjal gotsu – a tangy tomatoey dish with ginger, green chillies tempered with mustard, cummin, curry leaves, red and green chillies and channa dhall.
Simple, filling, no, fulfilling Soul food.
