Blessed Vinayaka Chaturthi to all.
A work from home day. A very early start to ensure a full day’s work.
In the early evening, made some tomato rice, fruit nut modakams and kozhukattais, Kara pidi and ammini kozhukattais referred to as angumanis by my son in law 😍. Food pictures in comments.
Had a quiet puja at home with family. Two brilliant young friends joined us, an architect and a surgeon, NZ’s only female spine surgeon.
Draped a special Saree. Gifted by my dear friend, the young surgeon’s mum, 30+ years ago. My friend has since passed on. A much loved, oft draped handloom kanjivaram silk, purple veldhari with mustard orange gold borders and pallu. The original blouse gets stuck midarm and only the first hook can be clasped😀🤣hence the flowery kalamkari khadi cotton blouse.
Photo credit goes to D1 who shares husband’s view that the blouse is a mismatch. But thick skinned me does not give two hoots – I feel good and that’s all that matters. (Photo also clicked at the end of a long but beautiful fulfilling day).
Signing off with Ganesha Chaturthi greetings,
never belated,
if one believes that time is non linear..
Salutations and Prostrations to the Lovable Lord of New Beginnings,
Remover of Obstacles,
Bearer of Great Tidings and Blessings, Personification of Intelligence, Perfection.
May our Sweet Lover of Modakams,
bless us all with love and light, understanding, wisdom, happiness,
great health, prosperity.
