Of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Saree..

ATTENTION ALL NEW ZEALAND SAKHIS.

THE TRAVELLING KUNBI..
thank you to Vini Tandon Keni..
has arrived in New Zealand having been handed over by Anuradha Sainath
to our very own Archana Passi Pabbi who’d excitedly draped the saree in Singapore then here in Auckland.
Our first gorgeous Kunbi wearer.

Those of you who would like to drape this beauty please private message me your full name and address with postcode.

As advised by other city organizers, the process will work somewhat like this :

  1. the Kunbi will be sent to you
  2. Please thank the sender, drape the saree and post pictures and writeup on Saree Speak. Acknowledge sender in writeup. Use #travellingkunbi in writeup.
  3. Please arrange for delivery to the next person on the list – by hand, courier, but asap.
  4. Please inform me/organizers who it has been sent to.
  5. The saree must move on to the next person within a day or two please.

So receive, thank, drape, click, post photo, writeup, send.

She will move from Auckland right down to Dunedin passing through many towns and then onto Australia.

Now, digressing completely from above topic,
For Navarathri a few days ago, I’d draped a gorgeous rich kanjivaram – vermillion with embossed peacock feather/flames with buttis of annapakshis/swans, green and gold borders, and red, gold Annapakshis, flame patterned pallu. Matched with saree’s blouse – flame with green and gold borders. Gifted by the man with great taste a few years ago.
